Vlada is a Research Fellow in the School of Computing and Information Systems. She has recently completed her PhD at Macquarie University, Sydney in the field of biomedical image analysis.
Her PhD thesis expands on the applications of machine learning algorithms to biomedical data to gain insight into the mechanisms of cancer metastasis, facilitate early tumour detection and provide rapid and reliable predictions of disease progression. She also worked as a Data Science Instructor at General Assembly where she led courses covering the fundamentals of Python programming, statistics, and machine learning. Vlada is particularly interested in applying machine learning and natural language processing to clinical data to enhance our understanding of diseases and create better diagnostic and prognostic tools.
