Abstract

Breast cancer arising in young women, particularly those less than 40yrs at diagnosis, has been long been observed to be associated with a poor prognosis independent of clinic-pathological factors. The reasons for this remain unclear. The advent of next generational sequencing technologies (NGS) has given us the ability for the first time to unravel the cancer genome. As such, it promises to reveal new insights into cancer biology that will change how we treat and manage patients. Thus far there have been no attempts to genomically profile breast cancers arising in young women. This could help us understand the biological mechanisms that contribute to their aggressive disease biology. Furthe..
