Abstract
Colonial magazines were a vibrant part of Australia's emergent literary culture. They fashioned new writers, investing in local identities while also engaging in global events. This project will map the literary economies of these magazines, focusing on popular genres and key themes such as nation building, indigeneity, gender and cosmopolitanism.
