Abstract

A network of research groups at the neighbouring Delft University of Technology and the Erasmus University (Rotterdam) offers training for early stage researchers through a project on the development of: (i) a group of effective and specific contrast agents for medical diagnostic techniques, including MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), PET (Positron Emitting Tomography) and SPECT (Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) and (ii) similar compounds that can be used for therapy. The specificity of both classes of compounds will be optimised by utilising molecular recognition for the accumulation of the diagnostic or therapeutic drugs concerned in the region of interest. A modular approach wi..
