This chapter reports an ongoing study examining the learning characteristics of underachieving, able children, together with their monitoring and suggestions for appropriate teaching and learning procedures. These children need teachers who understand the reasons why some children underachieve, so that they can encourage the children to share their feelings and to look on achievement in the most positive manner.
