Abstract Expert evidence is a dynamic and controversial area of the law of evidence, particularly 22.01 criminal evidence. In this chapter we aim to describe the current law, identify and examine principal difficulties in using expert evidence and, Finally, to offer some suggestions as to likely developments in this area.
