Comment: Number of sample populations required to determine the effects of herbicide resistance on plant growth and fitness

Abstract

Experiments to determine the relative growth and fitness of herbicide-resistant and susceptible weeds commonly include only a single population of each. It is argued that such limited experimental designs can be misleading and should be avoided. Guidelines are given to aid decisions on choice of number of populations.
