Abstract
Resistance exercise training was well tolerated in patients with stable, chronic heart failure, resulting in increased strength and endurance, and lower oxygen consumption at submaximum workloads but no improvement in VO(2peak). There was also a significant increase in basal forearm blood flow following this form of exercise training.
