Abstract
The frequency-dependent conductivity and the dielectric response of dilute polystyrene latex dispersions have been measured with a view to examining the validity of the extant theory. The frequency spectra measured over the range 1 kHz to 1 MHz do not show quantitative agreement between the predicted and experimental curves. The general trends in the frequency response are, however, the same for both the theory and the experiment. The quantitative discrepancy between the two is attributed to the presence of an extra electrolyte in the suspensions. © 1992.
