Abstract

ObjectivesTo determine what students had received in the teaching of key areas in school-based sexual health education.Methods1706 university students completed a self-administered questionnaire exploring their previous exposure towards 16 sexual health topics.ResultsMost recalled ever having attended classes on sexual health topics but reported remarkably low coverage for lessons relating to ‘Sexual relationship and emotion’. Students expressed most need for information on ‘STIs’, and while ‘sexual desire and pleasure’ was the least.ConclusionThe students’ low recall for taught sexual health education requires further investigation in order to establish methods on improving information rete..
