Nature Reviews Immunology 12, 101–113 (2012) In Figure 2 of the original version of this article, the arrow pointing from the CLP to the MDP was incorrect. This arrow should instead have pointed from the CLP to the CDP. This has now been corrected online. Nature Reviews Immunology apologizes for this error.
