Abstract

Insertables are a new class of devices that are no longer confined to the pages of science fiction or to the silver screen, but are being used by real users. Many people are using insertables for everyday convenience. Some insertables are being used to extend human capabilities. Insertables include devices that can be inserted into, and removed from, cavities of the body. Insertables can be self-fitted or inserted by medical professionals or qualified body-modification artists
