Predictability, luck and trust - The change of certainty in biographical expectations during modernity

With the shift from first to second modernity, biographical constructions have changed. Against the background of fundamental processes of individualization careers are ever less explainable by class and social strata. Rather biographies have become fluid and therefore less and less clear and expectable; they can develop in quite different ways.
