Preparation and X-ray structure of cis-3-pentamethyldisilanylcyclohexyl p-nitrobenzoate

Abstract

The title compound was prepared in three steps from cyclohex-2-enone. The C(alkyl)-O(ester) bond distance is 1·471(3) Å which is not significantly different to that for other cyclohexyl p-nitrobenzoates. This suggests that the γ-pentamethyldisilanyl substituent has very little effect on the ester substituent in the ground state.
