Abstract

Introduction Postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO) is a common disease characterized by low bone mass and micro-architectural deterioration of bone tissue leading to skeletal fragility [1]. Osteoporosis is also defined as a skeletal disorder characterized by compromised bone strength predisposing to an increased risk of fracture. Bone strength reflects the integration of two main features: bone mineral density (BMD) and bone quality [2].
