Abstract
Input-to-state stability (ISS) is investigated in the context of averaging. 'Strong' and 'weak' averages are introduced and their ISS properties are used to deduce ISS properties of the actual system. ISS of the strong average implies uniform semi-global practical ISS of the actual system. The weak average is a more general concept, but does not yield the same strong implication. On the other hand, ISS of the weak average implies uniform semi-global practical ISS of the actual system when the disturbances are uniformly Lipschitz.
