Abstract
An algorithm for estimating parameters in a simple model of ionospheric electron density is presented here, given noisy sounding data asynchronously recorded by a geographically distributed array of identical ionospheric sounders. The ionospheric dynamics is modelled as a state space system, with an extended Kalman filter developed to track the evolving ionospheric state as new measurements become available.
