Childhood sexual abuse: A risk factor for postpartum depression?

Abstract

While the link between childhood sexual abuse and adult psychiatric disorder has been documented, such research has not looked at any association with postpartum depression. Admissions to the Mercy Mother-Baby Unit are reviewed with respect to a possible link, with case examples presented.
