Abstract
Monoamine neurotransmitters, serotonin, noradrenaline and dopamine modulate many important cognitive processes such as attention, learning and memory. While the selective effects of serotonin and catecholamine depletion on such processes have been investigated, the effects of simultaneous depletion of these monoamines on cognition remain unclear. This is of particular interest given that multiple neurotransmitter abnormalities have been implicated in many psychiatric disorders.
