Abstract

The publication of the complete letters of Cardinal Giovanni Battista Patrizi (1658–1727) to his brothers Mariano (1663–1744) and Francesco Felice (1665–1734) from June 1718 until his death in July 1727. Cardinal Patrizi was papal legate in Ferrara 1718–1727 and the letters deal mainly with the villa he was having built in Rome (the Villa Patrizi, destroyed 1849, the construction and decoration of which was supervised by Mariano and Francesco. They also refer to the Palazzo Patrizi in Rome and Palazzo Patrizi at Castel Giuliano in Lazio. The letters are exhaustively analysed in David R.
