Quantifying uncertainty and robust performance using the v-gap metric

Abstract

The v-gap metric is reviewed as a useful tool for quantifying uncertainty and robust performance within the framework of H∞ loop-shaping. This metric has a natural frequency-domain interpretation which, combined with particularly sharp robustness results, facilitates the design of weights that appropriately reflect robustness requirements within the H∞ loop-shaping framework.
