Early Australian collections were made under funding from Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS), with subsequent support for survey of Alligator Rivers Region by Office of Supervising Scientist, via Chris Humphrey. Molecular quality larval material from Australia was provided by Linda Metz (Environmental Officer, City of Cockburn, Western Australia), Darren Hinks (Australian Water Quality Centre, Adelaide, South Australia) and Mark Stevens (Yanco Agricultural Institute, New South Wales). Wing Hing Wong (N.U.S. - National University of Singapore) provided as-yet unpublished data on barcoding and pilot phylogenetic studies. Yuchen Ang (N. U. S), Rayson Lim and Audrey Heyzer (Tropical Marine Science Institute) and Jeremy Woodford (Environmental Health Institute) assisted in field and laboratories in Singapore. Duncan Sivell loaned specimens from the Natural History Museum, London, Professor Koichiro Kawai (Hiroshima University, Japan) kindly sent adult material of P. nubifer from Japan and Dr. Frank Menzel (Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, Muncheberg, Germany) loaned material from the type series of Polypedilum pelostolum. Bernarr Kumashiro, Frank Howarth and Glynnis Nakai (Hawai'i) and William Mabee (Missouri Department of Conservation) sought P. nubifer, although without success: we appreciate their efforts. Patrick Ashe and Rudolf Meier gave valuable input on various draft parts of this manuscript.
