Surface Code Continuous Quantum Error Correction Using Feedback

We investigated the use of feedback in a continuous error correction scheme for quantum computing based on the surface code. Using a minimal 2-D qubit array, we can implement a simple yet effective measurement-based feedback policy to preserve codeword fidelity and extend the timescale of coherent storage. The quantum feedback network was described in the Heisenberg-picture using quantum filtering formalism in conjunction with an efficient SLH parametrization.
