Undergraduate teaching of emergency medicine in Australasia

Abstract
Study objective: To describe current undergraduate teaching of emergency medicine in Australasia and analyse the structural features of this teaching. Design: Cross sectional mail survey. Setting and participants: Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. Intervention: Questionnaires were sent requesting details of undergraduate teaching of emergency medicine at Fellows' parent institutions. Measurements and results: Australasia has 30 undergraduate programs in emergency medicine. Teaching is occurring across the clinical years with concentrations in years 4 and 6. Seventy‐seven percent of programs employ a combination of structured and opportunistic learning experiences. C..
