Adaptation and validation of the ITQ (Interpersonal Trust Questionnaire). A new measure of social support

Abstract

The present paper reports on the results of the Spanish adaptation and validation of the Interpersonal Trust Questionnaire (ITQ - Forbes & Roger, 1999), conducted with a sample of Venezuelan college students. The original 48 items scale measures the capacity of individuals to use social support effectively, trough three different dimensions: Fear of disclosure (FOD), Social coping (SC) and Social intimacy (SI). The scale, jointly with other personality questionnaires, was administered to a sample of 292 university students from three different universities in Caracas-Venezuela.
