Abstract

This chapter focuses on how television travel shows in Taiwan that are targeted at and/or popular with female audiences mediate the wider cultural imagination of available gendered identities. By considering how these programs represent the relationship between women and transnational mobility. The chapter explores how they connect with the ongoing transformation of gender as a result of economic, cultural, social and demographic change in Taiwan today.
