Abstract

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in males worldwide. The incidence and mortality rates for prostate cancer vary widely between population groups around the world. There is an obvious variation in these trends between the more developed nations of the world versus the less developed nations. This is due to variations in screening, provision of health services, genetic predispositions, and lifestyle factors. The impact of screening has been shown in both randomized controlled trials as well as in population cohort groups.
