Abstract

The location of solubilization of the anthroyloxy group on some n-(9-anthroyloxy)stearic acid probes has been studied in several micellar systems by using an NMR technique. Information on the integrity of the micelles in the presence of probe has also been obtained from T1 and T2 relaxation time measurements of the micellar systems in the absence and presence of probe molecules. The results indicate that there is a small change in the mean position of solubilization of the anthroyloxy group in the alkyl core of the micelles as n increases. The distribution of solubilization is however quite broad, and in most systems a bias toward the micelle-water surface is evident regardless of the positi..
