Abstract
Radioligand binding studies have become widely used. Depending on the incubation conditions (receptor and radioligand concentrations, incubation time) and the nature of the radioligand (pure enantiomer or racemate, affinity, selectivity) binding studies can generate artefacts which can lead to significant misinterpretation of the experimental data. Daniel Hoyer discusses the limitations of the use of racemic (but also pure enantiomeric) radioligands based on published material. © 1986.
