Abstract

Translator training takes many forms. Experience is the primary level of training. At the next level, there are number of short-term training courses offering translation skills. Finally, there are long-term training programmes offered by institutions. Translation courses are offered as part of most degree programmes in foreign languages. Independent Masters-level programmes are more focused on the skills actually used by translators and/or interpreters, thus catering to specific market niches or skills.
