Abstract

We have often lived in social realities well before we can talk about them. Only slowly do we start to identify and name aspects of the settings we have inhabited, but as we do they take on the sharp edge of recognition that allows them to enter our consciousness. As concepts are named and distinguished we can then proceed to deepen, enrich, problematise and debate our social lives more fully.
