Abstract

The stereotypic screaming of a 4.2 yr old severely retarded boy was successfully reduced with a visual screening procedure in both school and home settings. Treatment gains were maintained over time and there was some evidence of treatment generalizing across time and persons. Social validation ratings confirmed the effectiveness of the program. © 1983.
