Abstract
The large volumes of data that will be produced by ubiquitous sensors and meters in future smart distribution networks represent an opportunity for the use of data analytics to extract valuable knowledge and, thus, improve Distribution Network Operator (DNO) planning and operation tasks. Indeed, applications ranging from outage management to detection of non-technical losses to asset management can potentially benefit from data analytics. However, despite all the benefits, each application presents DNOs with diverse data requirements and the need to define an adequate approach. Consequently, it is critical to understand the different interactions among applications, monitoring infrastructure..
