COMPUTER-AIDED LEARNING OF SIGNAL THEORY.

Abstract

Computer-aided learning programs have been used for the past three years at the University of Sussex to complement the teaching of a course 'Signals in Electronic Systems'. Based on experience with a program bought for the purpose, some conclusions about how to write computer-aided learning programs were arrived at. A new program 'FT' (Gawthrop, 1984) was written to implement some of these ideas, and this program has been used for the past two years. The purpose of this paper is to present some ideas about how computer-aided learning programs should be designed, and to illustrate how these ideas have been implemented in the program FT.
