UBI challenge: Research coopetition on real-world urban computing

Abstract

This paper introduces the UBI Challenge that challenged the global R & D community to design, implement, deploy and evaluate novel applications and services in real world setting atop an open urban computing testbed. The paper first provides a procedural description of the UBI Challenge and then discusses the outcome so far with a special focus on the various issues introduced by the real world setting. © 2011 ACM.
