Abstract
Recent curriculum reforms in Australia represent a major professional, public and personal investment at all levels of the education system. The implementation of the curriculum has a major influence on the entitlements of students to knowledge, understanding and opportunity, the professional identity of teachers in planning and executing instruction, and the aspirations of governments and communities.
