Abstract

There is a high incidence of sexual dysfunction following hysterectomy with or without oophorectomy. Psychological factors and inadequate hormonal replacement therapy are important in the development of this problem. These factors are outlined and appropriate guidelines are suggested for the prevention and management of post-hysterectomy sexual dysfunction.
