Abstract
Modern tendon transfer techniques are effective for the restoration of upper limb function for patients with a number of indications, including irreversible peripheral nerve injury, failed nerve transfer, and brachial plexus or spinal cord injury. Within this chapter are discussed the basic principles and biomechanics of tendon transfer, the assessment and management of patients in preparation for these procedures, current tendon transfer techniques and postoperative care.
