Abstract
Aims and objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of chronic wounds on the physical, emotional, social, lifestyle and financial domains of quality of life among people who self-treat their wounds. Background: Patient-centred models of care have received increased attention over recent decades because of the potential to contribute positively to the patient's health and well-being. A contemporary understanding of the effect of chronic wounds on quality of life may assist care providers and healthcare systems to respond to patient needs and improve patient outcomes.
