The purpose of this paper is to review a range of existing and emerging agricultural methods in the context of the Australian food system that could potentially address issues surrounding adequate, nutritious future food production. It forms part of a larger project that will use scenario modelling and the Australian Stocks and Flows Framework (ASFF) on a national scale to identify priority policy interventions to help protect Australia’s food security in the face of environmental sustainability challenges. The land a resources issues that could be address by each method have been discussed and the changes required in the ASFF to incorporate these methods have been identified.
