Abstract
We present a case of soft tissue infection caused by the basidiomycete Phellinus undulatus. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of human infection caused by this fungus. Definitive identification was only possible through molecular analysis as the isolate failed to produce any distinct morphological features in vitro. © 2011 SGM.
