Abstract
γ-Aminobutyric acid (GABA)A receptors mediate phasic and tonic inhibition in the brain, and epilepsy-associated mutations are found in GABAA genes. This chapter discusses a mouse model of human genetic epilepsy and how it has informed our understanding of the role of GABA A receptor dysfunction in patients.
