Effect of particle size of starting material TiO2 on morphology and properties of layered titanates

Abstract
Layered titanate NA2Ti3O7 powders were fabricated by solid-state reaction of Na2CO3 and TiO2. The influence of the particle size of starting material TiO2 on the morphology, H+-exchanging and Ag+-adsorbing properties of the resulting products were studied. It was found that small-sized TiO2 led to ultrafine and well-dispersed titanate. The H+-exchange behavior and Ag+-adsorbing extent were dependent on the size of titanates. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
