Synthesis of ultrafine Fe2O3 powders by decomposition of organic precursors and structural control by doping

One of typical methods to prepare ultrafine iron oxide particles is based on the decomposition of iron-containing organic precursors. It is found that the particle size and crystal phase of the obtained iron oxide are dependent on the type of precursors, the decomposition temperatures and other factors. This paper presents a simple organic precursor route developed to prepare ultrafine Fe2O3 particles and particularly investigated the influence of metallic ion dopants on their crystal phase.
