Clinical trials in cancer medicine.

The need for improvement in the results of all types of cancer treatment must be apparent to any practitioner who sees cancer patients. A number of clinical trials are in progress in this country to evaluate various cancer treatments, especially those using drugs. The purpose of this paper is to inform family physicians about the nature of some of these trials, and to provide some information about the drugs being investigated.
