Early Intervention to Reduce Violence and Offending Outcomes in Young People with Mental Disorders

Abstract

This chapter reviews the rationale and evidence base for early recognition and intervention for mental disorders in those who have offended or are at risk of offending. Service models are discussed whereby preventive strategies may be employed to reduce the risk of violence and offending in those with mental disorder.
