Xenon as an adjuvant to therapeutic hypothermia in near term and term newborns with hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy

Abstract

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of xenon as an adjuvant to therapeutic hypothermia on mortality and neurodevelopmental morbidity, and to ascertain clinically important side effects in newborn infants with HIE. Secondary objectives will include early predictors of adverse outcome and assessment of potential side effects of xenon.
