Customizing chemotherapy for colon cancer: The potential of gene expression profiling

Abstract

The value of gene expression profiling, or microarray analysis, for the classification and prognosis of multiple forms of cancer is now clearly established. For colon cancer, expression profiling can readily discriminate between normal and tumor tissue, and to some extent between tumors of different histopathological stage and prognosis.
