Visual Difficulty Driving at Night

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Two thousand drivers attending for optometric examination were asked if they drove at night and if they had visual difficulty driving at night. One quarter of the sample reported visual difficulty driving at night and one quarter of this group elected not to drive at night for this reason. The proportion of drivers reporting visual difficulty driving at night was not related to age for subjects aged less than 70 years. Significantly more women than men reported visual difficulty driving at night and more women than men elected not to drive at night.
