Peculiar velocities of clusters in the perseus-pisces supercluster

Photometry is presented for spiral galaxies in five clusters of galaxies in the direction of the Perseus-Pisces supercluster. We employ the 21 cm observations of these galaxies by Giovanelli, Haynes, and colleagues to measure distances of these clusters by means of the Tully-Fisher relation. Most of these are in fact more distant than the supercluster and have peculiar velocities averaging -400 km s-1. This is broadly in agreement with the earlier result of Willick who analyzed a large field sample. Examination of the behavior of the whole sample of 21 clusters with Tully-Fisher distances within 104 km s-1 is suggestive of the bulk flow kinematic model originally fitted to elliptical galaxie..
